Ballarat Regional Occupational Safety & Health Group has lead the way in health and safety throughout the region and by example throughout Victoria for more than 30 years. Our pioneering efforts to support and inform businesses about Occupational Health & Safety have fostered co-operative, preventive approaches that have lead to improved performance.

We formed in 1974 when local health and safety professionals identified a need for networking opportunities to share experiences and ideas, as well as providing an avenue for businesses to access information and expertise on health and safety issues.

Winner of the 2002 WorkSafe Award for 'Outstanding Leadership in Health and Safety'.

Currently BROSH has 80 members. Membership is diverse and covers manufacturing, health, education, local government and service sectors.

Multi-national companies Masterfoods Australia and New Zealand makers of Mars and Allied Mills Australia Pty Ltd - Ballarat Mills are members, as well as locally owned and operated businesses such as Selkirk Brick, Hilton Fabrics, Sovereign Hill and Scobies Service Centre.

Ballarat Return To Work Network - BRTW

18th March, Psychological Injuries in the Workplace

BROSH is pleased to advise that it has now completed an agreement with the Victorian WorkCover Authority to facilitate the Ballarat Employer Return to Work Network for 2008. This will enable access to up to date relevant information through a range of speakers and resources to keep members informed.

The Network goals are to provide you with the opportunity to meet with return to work experts and others in your local community to share skills, experiences and knowledge.

Attendance is limited – register today to secure your position at this important event!

BROSH annual Solutions Challenge has been run and won - We had a great many applicants in he 2007 challenge. The winners for this 2007 were:

  • Agriculture: Ballarat Livestock Selling Centre - New Ramp Design
  • Manufacturing and Logistics: Laminex Industries - Paper pallet
  • Public Sector and Community Services: David Rivett - The 'Riv-Lift'

BROSH Health & Safety Representative (HSR) of the year - A HSR role can be one of the most important in regards to implementing the safety management system in any workplace. This year's winner is a very worthy recipient in Stewart Middlin from MaxiTrans. Stuart has been a strong advocat for safety in the workplace over the years. A crowning moment for Stuart was his role in the development of a regional Health and Safety Representative Network. Congratulations Stewart!
